Highschool sports

Awesome freestyle wrestling move for people that have never seen the sport in action.

In high school I wasn't all that great at sports however at the time I was probably ignorant of this notion. There may have been times when I had flashes of greatness or showed potential and who knows maybe if this or that wouldn't of happened I would of been great. The reason why I am writing this blog is because during my adolescence these dreams about what I could become over took me.  I put  a lot of effort into this and really bought into this dream. In my spare time I would run to a gas station pick up a water or a cliff bar and run back (5 miles if you were wondering) it was a good get away, or run to the gym and get a work out there. There were a lot of trials I faced in High school mentally like losing my father for example and digging into these dreams helped me overcome my worries because I could feel in control. One example of a trial I had was when I broke my leg wrestling it made me feel useless and even though I was hampered I still bought into this dream. I was on my crutches for months but I would still run the mile in P.E getting a time of like 10 mins beating some of the larger kids and I could bench press 260lbs at the time. No matter how good of shape I was in at the time or how fast I was it still  didn't make me better at wrestling or football. I wish I would of had a little more perspective at the time because I really lacked on grades and could of been a way better student then I led myself to believe. However, I don't regret how much effort I put into these sport or the late nights cutting weight because it taught me how to be disciplined, humble, made friends, learned how to work and lead others and most importantly it gave me a dream and taught me how to live with that dream no matter what the outcome.

  1. nice post.. i tagged you in my challenge

  2. Sounds like you had a rewarding experience! I love the experience of being a part of a sports team. It's so much fun.

  3. I have found there is no such thing as failure in life as long as you keep trying. Any failure is just another learning experience on your way to success.
